GRAIN DEALERS MEET IN TULSA.
An Tulsa gets another big conven-
tion. The grain dealers "f Eastern < >k-
lahoma will rnett here In convention
on Saturday. September 261b. and the
Commercial Club room* will be a scern
of gr* at activity There w ill probably
!»e more than one hundred grain deal-
ers and others present at the meeting
and matter* of great importance to
them will he taken up The prime
object of the meting i» the forming
of an association. There I* on assoc-
iation as yet in the Indian Territory
side of the Mate, ana it I* thought that
the meeting on Saturday will result in
the consolidation of the eastern deal-
er* with the western dealers, who are
organized at the Ok’ahoma Grain Heal-
ers Association.
Another evidence of the enterprise '
of the business men of Tulsa is the |
fa» t that they have subscribed and '
collected two purses, one of $20 and
another of $10. These purses will be
given a* prizes to the farmers bring- j
ing into the lo« al market, the first and
second load of cotton The cotton
crop this year will be a bumper one I
and it is supposed that a larger amount
of the great comomdity will he hand-
led at Tulsa market than ever be-
for* The importance of the cotton
Industry is dawning upon neighboring
towns and several new gins have been
completed for the handling of this I
year’s crops. At Bristow. Bixbv and
other places, great quantities of cot-
ton w ill be handled this fall.
