Memorial Day.
Everybody cordially invited to attend
memorial services to be held at Chandler,
Okla., May 30th. Let every one come and
make it an occasion to be remembered;
come and bring your baskets filled with
good things to eat and flowers.
The Commercial club at a meeting held
in its rooms decided that memorial day,
should be celebrated in Chandler as it never
has been before. A committee was appoint-
ed to make all necessary arrangements. On
the 2nd of May the committee met at the
club rooms and organized by appointing J.
B. Underwood chairman, J. M. Clark sec-
retary. The following committees were ap-
pointed:
Graves: J. M. Clark, John Winkleman,
J. W. Feuquay, Benoni Rea, C. B. Wilson
and C. F. Harper.
. Speakers: Capt. Jacob Amberg, George
Smith and H. B. Gilstrap.
Music: Orin Ashton, J. F. Collar, Byron
Sands, A. A. Bass, Miss B. Slaughter,
Mrs. A. M. Marshall, Mrs. R. V. Hoffman,
and J. E Thomas.
Finance: J. F. Ayars, P. S. Hoffman,
J. M. Hale, F. B.'Hoyt and H. M. John-
son.
Flowers: Mrs. J. W. Feuquay, Miss
Annie Clark, Miss Estella Beckelheimer,
Miss May Zipf, Miss Joe Wolco't, Mrs.
Eva Cheney, Mrs. J. C. Fletcher, Mrs. C.
F. Harper, Mrs. W. J. Lawrence and Mrs.

The ministers of the several churches
are requested to arrange for a union mem1
morial service on Sunday the 26th. inst.
All organized societies in Lincoln county
are cordially invited to. attend in a body or
as individuals and participate, in the cele-
bration.
Ail committees are requested to.report to
central committee at club rooms on the 16th
inst. at 5 p. m. ,

Parnell Notes.

Weather is iine.
We had a fine rain Friday evening.
The postmaster at Anvil and family are
wrestling with small-pojt this week.
Lewis McGee and Con Atkins, mail car-
riers, are both wrestling with chills.
Professor Harmon and Mr. Schooler, of
Chandler were callers at. Mr. Fowler's on
Tuesday.
Mr. Burns and daughter, from Bellment,
passed thaough Parnell Sunday enroute
home from Chandler.
Farmers are nearly all done planting cot-
ton and'corn, some of the corn having to be
replanted because planted loo early.
Thomas J. R'ichardson, bne of the first
settlers of Lincoln couety, died last Friday
at his home five miles north of 'Parnelh and
six miles southeast of Chandler, at the ^ge
of 73 years. Mr. Richardson was born
near Muncie, Indiana, and lived in that
county for 56 years. In 1884 he moved to
Elk county, I^ans., where he lived till he
came to Oklahonfa in 1891. • He leaves a
wife, one daughter and four sons, all of
whom reside in Lincoln county. He was a
good citizeji an an estimable man, having
the confidence of all who knew him. Fun-
eral services were conducted bv"Rev. R. B._
