Character Party.
Misses Jessie Morrow and
Bertha Ruble entertained the
girl members of the college
senior class Monday evening in
a novel and unique way. Each
guest ^as dressed to represent
some popular and noted charac-
ter. Those most worthy of
mention being grand mother,
old maid, Japanese lady, and
Bo Peep. The girls puzzled
their brains making out pictures
cut from advertisements until
every picture's representation
was guessed. Auother very
amusing and diverting feature
was the making of silhouette
portraits of each girl present.
At a suitable hour some very
tempting eatables were disposed
of. The girls report a jolly
good time.
Whist Club.
Mrs. Will Swiler entertained
the Ladies Afternoon Whist
Club yesterday afternoon. Re-
gardless of the fact that the
number of members of this club
is thirteen an enjoyable time is
always spent at their meetings
and yesterday afternoon an ex-
ceptionally good time is report-1
ed. Mrs. Gray received the j
prize. The members are Mes-
dames Spurrier, Frazer, Powell,
DeBcis. Barnes. Swiler, Gray,
Hunt, Holter. Katz, Clark, Fields
and Hodges.
Constellation Party.
Yesterday afternoon and this
afternoon the attractive, home
of Mrs. S. P. King was thrown
open to a throng of guests. From
the hours of three to six she has
entertained her friends at a
“Constellation Party’*. Taste-
fully and artistically arranged
thruout the house were many
colered stars on which were
written words. It was then the
pleasure of the ladies to place
these words together so as to
form popular and well know
quotations. Mrs. Fred Hunt
was winner of the prize which
was a handsomely bound volume
of quotations.
The ladies then passed a very
pleasant time admiring pictures
of beautiful madonnas and copies
of famous paintings. Then fol-
lowed humorous jokes which
were hugely enjoyed by every-

Revival Services.
The special revival services
will be continued, during this
week, at the U, B. church. If
the Christian people of the city
will only come out and work in
these meetings, God will con
tinue to bless our people wonder-
fully. It will not be hard for you
to give in hour on several even-
ings during the week to this
work. The spirit of God is at
work among us; and the young
are coining to the Lord in large
numbers; as is also men and
women, ai d heads of families.
God will bless our work in that
proportion of faith displayed.
At an appropriate time excel- j Christian: speak to some uncon-
