RULES OF THE DISTRICT COURT.
In the District Court within and for
Tulsa County, 8tate of Oklahoma.
Rulot Proscribed to Expedite the Set-
tling of Issues.
1. Hereafter and beginning with Mon-
day, the 23d day of June, A. D., 1912,
the forenoon of each Monday will be
given over to the hearing of all motions
and demurrers filed with the District
Clerk the preceding week. This includes
all pleadings of whatsoever kind and
description (except such matters as
may be heard in vacation) other than
petitions, answers and replies.
2. Counsel filing motions or demur,
rers will be required to serve a copy
of such motion or demurrer upon the
opposite party or his attorney of record
either before or immediately after fil-
ing the same, so that the opposite
counsel who reside in the City of Tul-
sa may have forty-eight hours’ notice
before the same stands for hearing, and
that they shall mail a copy of said mo
tion or demurrer to non-resident at-
torneys at least four days before said
motion stands for hearing.
3. That hereafter attorneys filing
suits in this court will be required, and
.they are hereby ordered, to file carbon
copies of their petitions, answers or re-
plies, for the use of the opposite par-
ties, with their petitions, answers or
replies when so filed.
4. That hereafter the Clerk of this
Court is directed not to permit any of
the files of the Co'brt to be taken from
the Clerk’s office, without an order of
court authorizing the same.
It is ordered that these rules be
spread of record by the District Clerk
for the use and benefit of all persons
concerned.

Consul Hamm’s reuest or protection
for Americans in the Durango section
the state department has demanded
action from the Mexican federal au-
thorities. The department went fur-
ther than usual in that it requested
the federal government to dispatch
troops from Torreon. Consul Hamm
has previously reported foreigners, ir-
espective of nationalty, being held by
evolutionists for ransom in Durango
The prisoners at one time included the
archbishop of Durango.
