C. H. Parkes, a former Cleveland
county hoy has been nominated by
the democrats of Noble county,
for County Clerk.

city Tuesday and informed us that
he had sold two hundred and sixty
live dollars worth of fruit this sea-

W. A. Watts and wife and a party
of friends spent last week on the
Washita river, fishing. Mr. Watts
reports a very enjoyable time and
lots of fish.
J. M.Taylor, a former resident of
this city has been nominated by
the democrats of Noble county,
for Sheriff. It is certain that no
better candidate could have been
cliosen.
Prof. DeUnrr will conduct the
services Sunday morniutr at the
Prenfoyteritiu church. I" the even-

charge of the meeting. All are

The Hoaton Store luia aecured the

Miss May Fitzjerald is expected
in town Friday. She has been en-
gaged to sing each Sunday lor the
services at the Catholic church.
The members of the church are to
be congratulated on their success
in securing such a prize. Miss
Fitzjerald has a beautiful voice
and it will add much to the regular
service.

and will do all in his power to
make the trip all that could be de-

Monday afternoon calling him to

secure an able instructor.
Hon. K.F. Mitchell returned from
Ft. Sill yesterday evening. He
brings the report that everything
litis dried up in the Kiowa and Com-
anche country and prarie fires are
raging in every direction; he also
ays that vast herds of cattle are
suffering for both grass and watei.
He is of the opinion that all of the
hay for the government will have
lo be shipped to Sill from other
points, but however, it is not too
late for rain to make a hay crop.

The M. K. church south building
has been torn down to give way to

ing, was the first church building

Oklahoma, in which higher educa-
tional work was attempted. The

and the M. K. South College, began
work under Prof. Farris, anil was
quite successful. This College

ing. which was afterward enlarged
and is now occupied by the Sani-
tarium. The College was a failure
