AND OKLAHOMA CALL.

MORTL.BIX LER. - EDITOR.
MINNIE M.BIXLER, I BUSINESS MANAGER
Matter intended for publication I"
day 's paper should reach tliis uilice not later
than Friday noon, and for Wednesday 8paper
not later than Tuesday noon, to .nsuro pub-
lication.
Norman ouglit to have it cream-
ery and we are certain that we can
get it.
The State Democrat furnishes
its readers with twelve columns of
telegraphic matter each week,—
something that no other paper in
the county does.
We are reliably informed that
Norman can get a creamery if the in^-
milk of fifty cows is guaranteed.
Mr. K. E. Leach, who is interesting
himself in the matter says he will
furnish twelve cows.
The Louisville Times states that
General Hardin will be triumphan-
tly elected and that Joe Blackburn
will certainly secure a majoirty of
bis adherents in the Kentucky leg-
islature.

to transact such business as may
properly come before the Associa-
tion, and to take part in the excur-
t-ion to Galveston, leaving Norman
at midnight the same day.

When Purcell came to Norman
to play ball they were treated likf
gentlemen; but our boys were treat
ed like thugs.
Purcell played the baby act in
the last ball game with Norman
and would lead people to think
that they cant stand anything but
a "sure thing" game.
The Cleveland county fair was a
success. Good crowds attended
daily to watch base ball games,
horse races, etc. Several good races
were on the cards which were well
recived. The exhibits were lully
up to standard and spoke well for
the enterprise and industry ol
Cleveland county citizens.—Purcell
Enquirer.
Contractor Mose Manire lias
remodeled a building for I). ('. Da-
vis, near the Christian church, this
week, and has changed the appear-
ance of the property in a wonder-
ful manner. Mr. Manire desires to
call attention to all his work as he
is ready to meet any and all com-
petitors.
The ball game between Puree
and Norman Thursday broke up in
a row. The game stood a tie when
the Purcell players forced the urn
pi re to declare a man out whom he
had declared safe. Of course the
Norman boys could not stand such
work us that and protested. They
offered to play the game if they
would use only one umpire, who
was a Purcell man, but this propo-
sition was refused. It was useless
for Norman to play in a game
where a sure thing had been pre-
pared in the shape of an umpire,
who could not stick to his honest
decisions. We regret very much
that this occurred, but Norman's
players and backers are actuated
by a true sporting spirit and can-
not afford to countenance anything
hut square playing.

The Cats-raw of a Noted Onus Placed Cn-
dor Arrest.
Skymoub, Jlo., Sept. ■ 1— Counter-
feiter W. A. Prultt was yesterday cap-
tured in the dug-liills of the Ozark
mountains, 8 miles southeast of Sey-
mour. Constable John It. Miller, ac-
companied by Deputy United States
Marshal .lolin L. Hates, went to
l'ruitt's farm, agd while tho marshal
waited at a convenient place Constable
Miller covered l'ruitt with a yuu in his
own doorway, forcing the counterfeit-
er to aceoaipany them to the field and
dig up the whole counterfeiting
paraphernalia. Deputy Marshal
dates hae taken l'ruitt to Spring-
field to confront his pal, who took
one-half of the molds to the United
States marshal there and gave the
whole plot away. It. has developed that
l'ruitt is the cat's-paw of a gang of
noted counterfeiters, who have been
operating at other points, but are se-
curing allies among the ignorant farm-
ers in order to pass their spurious
money. Spurious is not a proper term,
however, as tho plan was to make
monev of standard silver of proper
weight. Other arrests will surely fid-
low, as l'ruitt has confessed and con-
nects several prominent persons with

Kansas City, Mo., Sept. * ... Travel
on all eastern lines into Kansas City
was unusually heavy this morning,
nearly every train having extra cais
attached. The rush was cause l by
the harvest excursion tickets which
were placed on sale by western lines
yesterday. The rate is one fare plus
S3 for the round trip, and tickets arc
good to nearly all points in the west
and southwest. The rush of travel-
ers and homeseeker* wm so great,
that nearly every train from the east
was from one to three hours late this
morning. The Union depot was not
big enough to accommodate the pas-
sengers waiting for outgoing trains
and many were compelled to stand or
walk about for hours. The majority
of the homeseeker. lind tickets for
southwestern Missouri, Arkansas and
