"Anyhow, Sam Small is the first
Oklahoma editor with grit to publish
his own poetry," says the Eagle.

THK Bell telephone patents expire
on the 30th of the present month. In
n short time, therefore, the public
may expect to enjoy the benefits of
this useful scrvice at something like
reasonable rates.
THE Sixth street evening sheet says,
or tries to say, that a building when
completed "will be taken down in
of the first part, and the board of
eommissiners of P county, parties of
the second part. It further gives, also
in full the letter in which the largest
firm in the world quotes its price up-
on the same specifications. It shows
that the county is out of pocket over
one thousand doliars (81,000) by the
illegal, unjust and dishonest methods
pursued by the county commissioners.
What more does the Sixth street
evening sheet require?
Have we not given the facts in the
case, the whole facts in the case and
nothing but the facts in the case?
We will quote the last paragraph of
"some pointers" in its entirety:—
"We would say to the supplement
that we intended to touch your ten-
der spot in our Monday's issue to the
extent that you would defend "dr
gang" at all risks." There, the peo-
ple of Perry have it. To our certain
knowledge six lawyers have called
the attention of other lawyers to the
curiosity and asked its meaning. It
would puzzle the pope or the devil to
bring any meaning whatever out of
the ungainly, illy gotten, worse con- ;
ceived and horribly born thing.
Read the quotation again. What
do you, gentle reader make of it?
Dear sheet,—if you aro a fellow,
be a hell of a fellow. If you
have anything to say,—say it. If yoti
have a defense, in heaven's name let
the commissioners have it. They
need it. They need it badly. Why
do you not give facts? Why do you
not knock out in as many rounds as
may be necessary the facts that we
have given this community?
What,- can't do it? Well, we
thought so. Then say nothing. Don't
talk about what you intended to do.
Don't,- please don't touch our tender
spot for we have one. Tisn't nice to
touch tender spots.
Again;—If you have a defense, let
the commissioners have the benefit
of it. They need it and need it bad-
ly.

we think it is-talks editorially about
man existing some 30,000 years ago.
Psalm, we have an inclination to the
belief that you doubt Moses' account
of the creation. We come to this con-
clusion after reading your learned ar-
ticle upon "how old is man." Yours is
a review, of course, but why entertain
for a moment such unorthodox views
you find room for?
Aknkit Weekly Courier you are
nondescript, but you are clean. Tell
ua—why do you say that you believe
yon can convince those who will al-
low themselves to be tortured with
your vaporings every week that their
time as well as yours will be poorly
spent. Answer this intelligently, and
by the holy smoke, if the issue con-
then be left standing on his head.

W. O. Wright, a bold bad man had
on his person a wicked looking 45
Colt's; his partner McBride created a
disturbance. They both made a gun
play at the variety theatre last night
and scared the life out of the an-
gels and one or two others, for
which they were arrested.
One of the ' one or two others"
came nearly knocking the front out
of the building in his anxiety to es-
cape the wrath of the "bejazez" men.
Wright and McBride are gone. The
angels still smile sweetly as circum-
stances admit, and Mr. , no, we
wont say it, the man who got rattled
