Every People's party man should
avail himself of this golden oppor-
tunity to secure some of the best
reform literature of the day.
PEOPLE'S PARTY PLATFORM.
Adopted in Ntitionul Convention at
Olnuhu, July 1, lMKi.
Wo declare—
1. That the union of the labor fores
of the United States, this day consum-
mated, shall ho permanent and perpet-
ual. Mav its spirit enter into all hearts
for the salvation of the republic and
the uplifting of mankind.
2. Wealth belongs to him who cre-
ates it, and every dollar taken from in-
dustry without an equivalent is rob-
ber}-. "If any will not work, neither
shall he eat." The interests of rural
and civic labor are the same; their in-
terests are identical.
.'J. We believe that the time has coine
when the railroad corporations will
either own the people or the people
must own the railroads; and should the
government enter upon the work of
owning and managing any or all rail-
roads, we should favor an amendment
to the constitution by which all persons
engaged in the government service
shall be placed under a civil service re-
gulation of the most rigid character,
so as to prevent the increase of the
power of the national administration
by the use of such additional govern-
ment employes.
4. We demand a national currency,
safe, sound and flexible, issued by the
general government only, a full legal
tender for all debts, public and private,
and that without the use of banking
corporations, a just equitable and effi-
cient means of distribution direct to
the people, at a tax not exceeding 2 per
cent per annum be provided, as set
forth in the sub-treasury plan of the
Farmers' Alliance or some better sys-
tem; also by payments in discharge of
its obligations for public improvements
.5. We demand the free and unlimited
coinage of silver and gold at the pres-
ent legal ratio of 16 to 1.
6. We demand that the amount of the
circulating medium be speedily increas-
ed to not jess than $50 per capita.
7. We demand a graduated income
tax.
8. Wo believe that the money of the
country should be kept as much as pos-
sible in the hands of the people, and
hence wo demand that all state and na-
tional revenues shall be limited to the
necessary expenses of the government
ecomieally and honestly administered.
9. We demand that postal savings
banks be established by the govern-
ment for the safe deposit of the earn-
ings of the people and to facilitate ex-
change.
1(1. Transportation beings a mean of
exchange and a public necessity, the
government should own and operate
the railroads in the interest of the peo-
ple.
11. The telegraph and the telephone,
like the postoilice system, being a ne-
cessity for the transmission of news,
should be owned and operated by the
government in the interest of the
people.
12. The land, including all the natural
sourse of wealth, is the heritage of all
the people, and should not be monopo-
lized for speculative purposes, and a-
lien ownership of land should be pro-
hibited. All lands now held by rail-
roads and other corporations in excess
of their actual needs, and all lands
now owned by aliens should be reclaim-
ed bv the government and held for
actual sett'.ers only.
Several of our merchants are closing

The Peoples Voice is the best ad-
advertising medium in Cleveland coun-
ty. It reaches more homes in this
county than any other paper published
in the county. Especially is this true
of the homes of the farming class. At
this season of the year the Merchant's
must look to the farmers for the largest
part of their trade. I'lant your adver-
j tisement in the Peoples Voicf and
you can rest assured that It will be read
; by every house holder in Cleveland
I county, and certainly you will reap a
rich harvest.
To the Farmers.
How to mend old collars that have
become broken in the middle and do it
c-heaplv has worried me for some time:
but not until I went to Kansas did I
solve the difficulty. There I secured a
patent collar fastener, that is just the
thing. Bring on yonr old collars and
I can tlx them up at a small cost to you
now.

Our Advertisers.
Have you noticed that the business
men of Norman advertise in the Peo-
ple's Voice? People's party men will
do us a favor by trading with the mer-
chants who advertise in the voice.
We shall advertise only responsible
merchants; and men whom we can rec-
ommend as honorable men to trade
with.
