Baptist Pastor Accepts
Call from Arkansas Church
Rev. W. L. A. Stranburg, whose
work as pastor of the local Baptist
church during the past year has ac-
complished so much good, has accep-
ted a call from the Baptist church at
Ge..try, Ark.
The announcement, made during
last Sunday's service, was a shock to
the members of the local church, who
had hoped that their pastor would re-
main with them for at least another year
Rev.Stranburg finds that to retain robust
health he must remove to a higher al-
titude, and notwithstanding the in-
creased salary offer he would remain in
this city but for that one reason.
Rev. Stranburg became pastor of the
local Baptist church last October, and
in the eleven months since then has
received sixty-one accessions to the
church.
As yet it is not known who will suc-
ceed Rev. Stranburg.

REEVES HAS CONTRACT
Jesse Reaves will, within the next
few days, commence work on the levee
to be built on the banks of Rush
Creek and the Washita river. While
the contract with the city council has
not as yet been formally entered into
Mr. Reaves submitted the best offer
for doing the work, and the street
committee, under the levee improve-
ment ordinance, has authorized the
work. The work will cost about
$2500.
