No Wreck.
Ihe report was circulated in this
y '"H night that a big wreck had oc-
curred on the Rock Island north of Kl
euo yesterday. In conversation with

lUthrie we learned that there was no
truth in the report. It was told here
and in Guthrie that eighty people were
killed, which everyone will be glad to
know is „ot trUe, and no wreck at all
occurred.

Miss Minnie Witt aged 20 died at
her home July 10 yid wa# flurried the
next day in the fngallscemetery. Miss
Minnie was a pleasant young lady
with a large circle or friends and rela-
tives to mourn her early death. She
was sick only nine days so her death
Was a great shock to many who hut]
not heard she was sick. Her parents
brother and sisters and relatives have
the sympathy of the neighborhood in
thc'rhourof sorrow. She cannot re-
turn to us but we may go to her.
Our village is daily represented at
the register station for the new land.
I his week Doctors Selph, Norwood
Messrs Wagoner. Jerome and others
are gone to try their luck. Hope In- |
galls wont be ignored as completely in i
the drawing as in the showers of rain
that seem to be going by. Every
tanner has stock for sale and may try
to give it away before .winter is over.
Dave Chezem is at his grandpa

Mr. and Mrs. Will Chittereden were
Stillwater visitors Saturday, also Mrs.
Pickering and daughter.
At the recent school meeting Mr.
Doneluie was elected on school board.
Messrs Wagoner and Selph being re-

Next Saturday and Sunday is the
day the Baptist people hold regular
services in the old school house.
Miss Dunn has been employed to
teach the high room this winter, the
primary teacher lias not yet been em-
ployed.
Grandpa Smart has moved to Still-
water having traded for property in
town we understand his lease on school
land is for sale.
Those who cannot go to the Register
office for trying to gr t a home in the
new land are trying their luck fishing
in the Cimarron, and thereby hangs
some big fish stories, one of which is
there is a fish some place in the river
with 16 foot of rope in its gills said fish
being so large that two men could not
hold it by the rope. Several have been
reported to weigh 7(1 lbs.
