The excitement of the election of
ofHcern and the regret we felt in
the coming good bye's to be said to
our Pres. and friends who were to
leave for the summer was for the
time forgotten in the ripple of so-
cial.chat that followed and each
felt as Mrs. Mackey said. "There-
is nothing nice enough to say to
thank you Mrs. Taylor for this
lovely treat."
Children's day exescises held at
the Christian Church was a grand
success, due to the untiring efforts

Mcachain, Misses Freeman and
Scott and others. The •• Tras
"Send the Light," am. les

tions touched tin- hearts of all. The
singing was good and recitations
showed careful training. Among
the recitations may be mentioned
the representation of the four coun-
tries, Japan, China, India and Ame-
rica by four little girls. The col-
lection amounted to over $10.00 The
church was artistically decorated
under the direction of Mrs. Burns.

And a good appetite go hand in
hand. With the loss of appetite, the
system cannot long sustain itself.
Thus the fortifications of good
health are broken down and the
Bystem is liable to attacks of dis-
ease. It is in such cases that the
medicinal powers of Hood's Sarsa-
parilla are clearly shown. Thou-
sands who have taken Hood's Sar-
saparilla testify to its great merits
as a purifier of the blood, its pow-
ers to restore and sharpen the ap-
petite and promote a healthy action
of the digestive organs. Thus it i.wf
not what we say but what Hood
Sarsaparilla does that tells the
story and constitutes the strongest
recommendation that can be urged
for any medicine. Why not take
Hood's Sarsaparilla now:
Children* Day at >1 ■ K Church S tilth.
Children's day was observed at
the M. K. C. vS. on last Sunday and
conducted in a pleasing and in-
structive manner by the S. S. pu-
pils. Rev. Brown gave a short ser-
mon in the morning from the text
"Thou art weighed in the balance
and found wanting." Several reci-
tations by the children were nicely
rendered and the music by the
choir was excellent. In the even-
ing was given a review of the Sou-
thern Methodist Army corps. F. S.
E. A nios, superintendent acting :is
leader. Capt Richardson receiving
officer, Miss Grace Berry, adjutant
Miss Annie Choate standard bear-
er for first, Miss Dora Sykes second
and Miss Agnes Meek third divi-
sion, Miss Abbie Warren corps
standard bearer. Capt Richardson
carried the divisions through some
pretty drills adding considerable
interest to the exercises. The va-
rious departments of church work
was explained by different pupils
and statistics given of the past and
present result of work done on each
line in a clear and interesting state-
ment. Not the least attractive be-
ing the two little girls in the cos-
tume of the Japanese and Chinisc.
Rev. Cameron responded to the
call of the superintendent and gave
a short talk on tlx' educational
work especially in the Indian mis-
sion conference. The pastor, Rev.
Brown received the report of the
leader of his scholars as "The Ar-
my of the Lord Jesus Christ" dis-
missing them with the benediction,
"The Lord of hosts go before you."
Marching to the strains of "Chris-
tian Soldiers" the army corps pass-
