A Word to the WI.e
Some people seem to think that
Building and Loan Associations are
owned by the officers and directors,
and that they are run by them for per-
sonal proBt;and some of them may be
especially those that charge you 20 per
cent, of what you pay tn for expense
kunds, aud pay fakt ot it back to
you as dividends. Such is not the
case with the Norman Building and
Loan Association. Our directors are
simply fdncted each year bv the stock-
holders, and are agents for the mem-
bers.
There is no source of income to the
managers, except dividends on the
stock they own, the same as other
members. But one officer, the Secre-
tary, Is paid a Balary.
The total profits of the Association
are divided among the members.
Every stockholder Ib as much inter-
ested in the affairs of the Association
and In its prosperity as are the officers
and the stockholders should at all
times speak a geod word for the Asso-
ciation and tieip io build up Its busi-
ness, aud by so doing they will help
themselves.
Make it a personal matter; If it is a
good thing fer you, it is a good thing
for your neighbor. If jou known of
people who could save a part of their
earnings and are not doing it, see
them and urge upon them the beneiits
to be derived in this Association. Tell
them what you have done, aud what
they can do, and If they follow your
advice they will always thank you for
starting them on the road to prosperi
ty.
