Wo lire reliably informed tiiat City

provisions of flic towmlte law. Now

be interested, it looks a little
strange that the fit; A'torney should

Peoples Party Meeting.
Tho peoples party held a meeting
at the opera house, last Saturday, at
which Italph Beaumont and Delos
Walker and others were advertised
to speak. Tho others were I here
but Beaumont and Walker woro
absent and Beaumont knew nothing
of the meeting. The question up fori u>'
discussion was: Should tho oflico;
seek man cr tho man tho oflico. '
TIiopo who wanted tho oflico to seek j
the man wcro led by A. T Boss
who made a hard fight for Ids side
but the odds wcro agaiust him
Some opposition was made to Hie
plan of candidates announcing and
several have declared that they will
not support men who seek tho office.
One gentleniHii who was present said
the reason for his wanting Hie man
to seek II e ofllce was becauso la t
elec:ion be wanted to bo nominated
for County Clerk and so informed
Mr, Chastaiu. That geiillcmaii told
him not (0 Kay any thing about it to
any one and that if lie was Hie proper
man Ihe ofllce would seek him. It
app.ars that fl.o oflico not only failed
to seek him but got as far away from
hi 111 as possible, not knowing that ho
was in existence. Another, wanted
to know in the convention, how the
peoplo would know who would ac-
cept an oliice if the candidates did
not announce, whereupon A T.lloss
dryly •einarked that liny would all
take ofllce. Judging from some of
the speeches made In the convention
tho olllc.es in Cleveland County will
he muchly sought after.
Our (i rand mothers' Way

uso it every night. Wo can do I lie
same by using Paiks' Tea. Nothing
acts as promptly and without discom-
fort. Not a pill or a earlhartic but
