That the university will soon have
a stadium in keeping with its fastly
developing ,'ithletic prowlers and as
good as any othev state university
of !t« size was evident when Uen-
nie (i. Owen, president Stratton D.
Brooks, and members of the county
clubs of the university meet in a
Home-going pep session, 1 husday
night.
Plans for launching an advertis-
ing campaign for this much needed
structure in every nook and corner
of the state were laid before the
. anty organizations by coach Owen
;; fter a brief rev ew of sooner ath-

of liennie poured out as he proceed-

of getting this stadium. He urged
upon ever\ county dub ihe need of

SON-IN-LAW FOR A |
CHRISTMAS PRESENT!
With the arrival of Decem-
ber there has been a decrease
in the number of marriage li-
censes issued at the county
court bouse. Tluv have been
gradually falling off all month
and .since last Tuesday not a
single expectant has approach-
ed the county judge on the
question of matrimony.
Father has probably decided
to cut down expense and keep
daughter until Christmas and
then present her to her lover as
a Christmas present.
What young man could wish
for a better present?
And ti return look what fa-
ther would receive a big fine,
industrious son-in-law in place
of the customary ifecktie.
Romeo and Juliet also see
that it is usless to think that
they could "Hoodoo* their
friends into giving them both
< hristmas presents since the
time - now so short. Reside*.
the\ believe it would be easier
t« remember their marriage if
it was performed on son r con-
yt J venient date like Christmas
Day.
Of cour e there may be a
few that will not he able to
wait until the Santa Claus day,
but judging from th s week'-
bus' less it looks as though the
marr age recorder might a*
• eli close his books and pre-
pare for the Christmas rush.
