On March 8th, H. 1". Myers
came down from Oklahoma City
and secured a marriage license to
wed Mrs. M. E. Howard. He took
the license to Oklahoma C ity and
was married by a minister ill Ok-
lahoma county on that date.
Licenses issued in one county are
not good in another, and when the
license was returned here Mr.
Myers was notified that the mar-
riage was illegal. He and his
bride came down from the city on
Saturday last and secured a new
license, and bad a legal ceremony
performed by County Judge Allen.
It wouk| be well for parties
contemplating marriage to remem-
ber tjiat licenses issued in one
county arc of no force or effect in
another, and ceremonies performed
under them elsewhere than in the
county issued are illegal. Re-
membering it may save them much
trouble in the future.
