Mr. Scott’s barn in the north-
west part of town was burned
Wednesday. His horse was in
the barn and burned. The fire
is] said to have started from
burning chips in the yard.
E. M. Hamlin of Henry town-
ship was in Perkins yesterday.
He is a candidate for the repub-
lican nomination for county-
clerk. Mr. Hamlin was a can-
didate three years ago when
there was no show for a repub-
lican and many of his friends
believe that he should be given
the nomination this year when
there is almost a cinch the re-
publicans will carry Payne coun-
ty. He is a farmer, he was for
several years a merchant. His
qualifications for the office are
not questioned. He enjoys the
respect and esteem ot his neigh-
bors. Mr. Hamlin has been in
Payne County for seventeen
years.
