Ralph Smock, the youngest son of
Mr. and Mrs. S. .1. Smock, of New-
kirk, had his left leg broken in two
places between his ankle and knee.on
Thursday of last week, lie was rid-
ing his pony with other boys on the
fair ground race track when his pony
slipped and fell with the above result.
He is getting along nicely and Mr.
Smock thinks he will be able to be
around again in a short time,

Last Tuesday morning Postmaster

robbers to the £une of t665. He went
to the office before daylight to fix the
mall, which leaves at fi:30 a. m., and
was held up by the robbers arid com
pelled to open the safe, from which
they took the above amount.

The progremive ladies of Westfield,
Ind., Issued a "Woman's Edition” of
the Westfield News, bearing date of
April S, IMS. The paper is filled
with matter of interest to women,
and we notice the following from a
correspondent, which the editors
printed, realizing that it treats upon
a matter of vital importance to their
sex: "The best remedy for croup,
colds and bronchits that I have been
able to find Is Chamberlain's Cough
Remedy. For family use It has no
equal. I gladly recommend it."

Last Sunday evening while City
Marshal Coi was eating bis supper at
tke Blackwell Hotel, a daring thief
stole his overcoat out of the wash
room of the hotel, alto a new hat be-
longing to Jack Hughes, on an ad-
joining nail. He came down stairs
and took a horse bitched in front of
the hotel and rode off. The horse
was turned loose and came home the
next morning. Marshal Cox and
Deputy Sheriff Lund traced the thief
to Grant county, and have found out
who he Is and will no doubt land him
in the county jail in a short time. •

Wedding Bells
Wednesday Eve. Dec. 29. at 7 o'clock
Miss Koxie Clark and Mr. VV. R. Kue-
cart were joined in the lloly bonds of
wedlock by the Rev. Harken, of Pon-
ca City. The bride looking her usual
lovliness was dressed in pure white j
with an over dress of spangle chaffua. |
The groout dressed in the usual j
customary black made a tine appear-
ance.
Mr. and Mrs. Goodson acted as at-
tendants and being newly married
filled this part with credit. Mrs.
Goodson was dressed in white and ap-
pelate trimmings, Mr. Goodson in the
customary black. »
The bride was presented with many ^

and Mrs. Kuccart will depart Friday
where they will rest for the next two
weeks, after this time they will be at
home to their many friends.

Married—E. M. Best and Miss Visa
Hoff were quietly married at the
home of the bride’s parents last
Wednesday evening in the presence
sf a few friends and relatives, Rev.
S. G. Keys performing the ceremony.
Mr. Best is one of the proprietors of
the Racket store and a very popular
young business man. The bride Is a
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 8.' Hoff, a
prosperous farmer who lives a mile
northwest of this city. Mr. and Mrs.
Best have many friends ln this city
who will unite with the Times-
Reookd in wishing the young couple
a prosperous and happy married life.
They will reside in this city in a new
Aome now being built by the groom in
the eastern part of town.

B. F. Shouse commenced the erec-
tion of a new dwelling fast week in
the west part of town. Mr. Ll StepH-'
enson, a carpenter from Chicago,
fell from a scaffolding while working
on this building and was severely In-
jured in the back. He is being cared
for at Mr. Charles Huntphrie* on
East Blackwell avenue, and 1* much
