Miss Agnes Miller, of Chicago, speaks
to young women about dangers of the
Menstrual Period — how to avoid pain and
suffering and remove the cause by using
Lydia E. Pinkhamfs Vegetable Compound.
“To Young Women: — I suffered for six years with dysmenor-
rhea (painful periods), so much so that I dreaded every month, as I
knew it meant three or four days of intense pain. The doctor saiil
this was due to an inflamed condition of the uterine apjwnuageB caused
by repeated ami neglected colds.
“If young girls only realized how dangerous it is to take cold at
this critical time, much suffering would t» spared them. Thank God
for Lydia E. Pinklmni’M Vegetable Compound, that was the only
medicine which helped me any. Within three weeks after 1 stalled to
take it, I noticed a marked improvement in my general health, and at
the time of my next monthly period the pain had diminished consider-
ably. I kept up the treatment, and was cured a. month later. I am like
another person since. I am imperfect health, my eyes are brighter. I have
added 12 pounds to my weight, my color is good, and I feel light uud
happy.”—M'ss Aones Hiller, 25 l’otomac Ave., Chicago, 111.
The monthly sickness reflects the condition of a woman’s
health. Anything unusual at that time should have prompt
and proper attention. Fifty thousand letters from women prove
that Lydia E. Pinkliain’s Vegetable Compound regulates mem
■truatkm and makes those periods painless.
READ WHAT MISS LIXDBECK SAYS:
“ Pfar Mns. Pinkuam: — Lydia E. Pink-
ham's Vegetable Compound has greatly bene-
litted me. I will tell you how I suffered. My
trouble was painful menstruation. I felt as each
month went by that 1 was getting worse. I had
severe bearing-down pains in my back and ilslo-
men.
“ A friend advised me to try Mrs. Pinkham’s
medicine. I did so and am now free from nil
pain during my jieriods.”—Jr.ssis C. Li.ndleck,
1201 6th Street, Rockford, 111.

Teaching a Lesson.
In these serious times when men
rush about the streets with stern,
set faces, it seemeth pat to para-
phrase the quotation, “An honest
man’s the noblest work of God," into
’A funny man’s the noblest work,”
etc.
It was on I>— n street, In a crowd-
ed city thoroughfare. Drivers were
shouting to fagged horses drawing too
weighty hinds, pedestrians were
dodging each other dexterously, and
the noon rusii was on in the congested
thoroughfaro.
At a dangerous crossing, u poor,
jaded woman, with u heavy bundle,
attempted to cross, as a great brute
on a coal wagon, bawled out:
“Qlt out of the way there! Git out—
can’t yo see nothin’?" And with
never a check on his forging horses,
almost ran her down. A scowl or
two from pasat rsby wore aimed at
the man who directed his attention to
swearing at his horses as they labored
with the excessive load. Then there
canto into the story the funny man.
He hail witnessed the brutal careless-
ness of the driver, and he uu-ant to
teach him a lesson.
"Hi!” ho cried, gesticulating wittily
and {stinting excitedly at the wagon.
“Hi! Something the matter with your
umii-ump ump-uinp I inumbllugly)
hind wheel."
“What’s that?” demanded the driver
above the clang of the cubic cars and
the stroel traffic.
"Something the matter with yer
ump-umpty ump-umpty uinlty-ump
hind wheel!’ reiterated the funny
man, waving his arms like a windmill
in a Kansas wind storm, and pointing
mysteriously under the teamster’s ve-
hicle.
"Whoa!" commanded the driver
“Whoa, d-n ye, whoa!” and ho pro-
ceeded with much alacrity and great
concern to climb down from his high
seat.
Meanwhile the funny man stood
mute, pointing. When the teamster
was prone on his knees trying to dis-
cover the whereabouts of the break,
the funny man shouted:
"Run over another woman, will ye?"
and ducking suddenly into the laugh
tng crowd, made his escape.

Everybody is Tired — Spring

Should Be Cautious.
Depression of the nervous system at
the approach of t-prlng Is the cause.
General lassitude, dull, heavy sensa-
tions, continual tired feeling, with Ir-
regular appetite, ami sometimes loss
of sleep. Peruna meets every imlica-
tlon ami proves Itself to be perfectly
adapted to all their varied peculiari-
ties. Peruna intlgorates the system,
rejuvenates the feelings, restores the
normal appetite and produces regular
sleep
Thai tired feeling which is the nat-
ural result of the depressing effect of
warm weather immediately after the
invigorating cold of winter, quietly
disappears when Peruna Is taken.
Thousands are daily testifying to lis
priceless benefit.
Mrs. H. Kassatt, 1303 West 13tn
street, Des Moines, la., writes: "I am
happy to give my endorsement for
your valuable medicine, Peruna. as 1
consider it a valuable medicine to take
when the system Is run down from
overwork. Aliout two years ago I felt
that 1 must take a long rest as I had
been unable to work for over a month
and could not regain my strength. I
could not sleep at night and was in
a very nervous, high strung, condition.
1 decided to try what Peruna would do
to build up my strength, and am
pleased to say that 1 began to Improve
very shortly, and in less than two
months 1 was able to take up my
work, and felt better than I have for
years. 1 take It now twice a year nnd
find that it keens me In perfect
health." Mrs. Kassatt was for over
ten years the manager of a plant fur-
nishing ladies' wear and employing
hundreds of women.
