There will be held In the city of
Enid, 011 the 21st day of May 1 ! 04, at
the hour of 10 o'clock a. m,, a dele-
gate convention composed of deli-
gates selected by the Democratic and
Peoples Party of Garfield county,
for the purpose of selecting 20 dele-
gates to attend the convention to be
held in the city of Anadarko, on the
the 1st day of June 1904. And for the
| selection f 20 delegates to attend
{the convention to be held in Okla-
| hoina City on the 2"th day of July
j 1004. And for the transaction of
j such obter business as shall come be-
i fore said convention.
The bases of representation, in said
county convention, shall be one dele-
! gate for'every seven votes, or major
fraction thereof, cast in the last gen-
| eral election, for Hon. Wm. M. Cross,
del gate to congress.
It is recommended: That the
voters of the above parties, unless
otherwise called by their commit-
teemen, assemble at their usual vot-
ing place on the 17th. day of May
1904, at the hour of 2 o'clock p. in.,
and in their own wa select the num-
ber.of delegates they are entitled to
attend said convention: That in
city and town precincts that they as-
semble at the hour of 7:3^ o'clock
p. m., of the same day, and proceed

misrepresentation came to light re-
cently. ti. Anglin and A. Stubble-
field were farmers and neighbors liv-
ing a quarter of a mile aparc east of
there. Both men had families. Mr.
Anglin though married, became in-
fatuated with Melissa, the oldest
daughter of Mr. Stubblelield. He did
not tell her of his affections. He
told her of a cousin in Kentucky and
induced the girl to correspond with
the Kentuckian, whose name was
given as U. L. Simpson. Anglin
managed the Simpson correspondence
which gradually grew into an engage
ment and a date was set for Mr.
Simpson to come there to claim his
bride. The wedding; was set for last
October. A few days before time for
Mr. Simpson to appear, Mr. Anglin
went to Tulsa had a new suit of cloth-
es made, his whiskers shaved off, his

Miss Stubblelield, her parents and
Mr Simpson came here to procure a
marriage license. The parents b;id
no idea they were marrying their
daughter to their old neighbor. It i*
said too, that when Mr. Simpson went
out to the Situbblelield's he stopped
and inquired of his own wife the way,
to test the completeness of his dis-
guise. She did not recognize him
When they we>e on their way to be
married, the wagon broke down near
Anglin's old home and the new Mr.
Simpson went to the house and had
his eldest son bring tools and fix the
wagon. He was not recognized.
Mr. Stubblelield Hnally discovered
how his family had been duped. His
daughter returned to her parents ana
a warrant was issued for Anglin on a
charge of bigamy. When last heard
from he as in Holdenville, I. T., but
he is not there now. He was discov-
ered by a person who knew the color
of his I air before it was dytil and
noticed that it was changing to its
original color at the roots.
