a newspaper for tiftytwo weeks before
legal notices could be given them, wes
adopted with minor amendment*.
House bill 145, by Lytton, defining
county tax levies, and pnscribing what
charges shall be paid from each fund,
came up next and was discussed at some
length. A number of members made a
decided st*nd for one general fund, but
gave no reason there'or except that it
was ba i to have money idle in the treas
ury in one fund wheu the chargesagainit
other funds were unpaid and dpawing

calendar without any action bei g

House bill 112, by E lie, relating to fish

The notification that the house had
killed two of the council bille, brought
forth several remarks.
Mr. Loenard stated that when a coun.
cil bill was read in the house upon which
a house bill of similar character had
been introduced in the house, the council
bill woe killed and the house bill substi-
tuted injorder that ccrtain individun's iu
the house might have the credit of be-
ing the author, and it looked us if only
those council bills wou'd b« pas-ed upon
which there were no house bills of a
•inula- character.
Mr. Clark remarked that if that were
the ease there would be no council billa
at idl passed, aa the house had a'reudy
introduced bills covering every subj«ct
except taging yellew dogs with u blue
string.
After several members had condoled
with Mr. Rmdolph, because the bill and
been killed by the house which had his
amendment ullowing single man tvo
horse* and a saddle for farming purpos-
es,the counsil adjourned until 10 o'clock
this morning.
