Offer Positively Refused.
(From Tuesday's Daily.)
Mr. Streams says he called on C.
O. Blake this morning and asked that
gentleman if he as attorney for the
waterworks company would accept
the sum of $7,000 as payment in full
of all the city owes the company.
Mr. Blake positively refused to enter-
tain a proposition of that kind, and
so now it is up to the city to hand
over the J7.328.13 which belongs to
the waterworks company. W here
the money is to come from is a mys-
tery as there is not that much, by a
good deal, in the fire and water fund.
And further more it can not be taken
' from any other fund. No robbing
