Bert Bradshaw Accidentally
Killed
Mr. Bert Brad soaw, long a re-
spected citizen of Noble, died Sat-
urday morning from the effects of
a gun-shot wound, received acci-
dentally while cleaning an auto-
matic shot gun about 7 o'clock
Friday evening.
It seems he and his son had been
hunting, returning late Friday even,
ing. They had an automatic shot
gun of which they took great care,
cleaning it after every time they
used it. This time the son went
up town on an errand, leaving the
father in the kitchen cleaning the
gun, There was no one else at
home, Mrs. Bradshaw being at the
home of the son next door, and it
'j« not known just how the acccident
occured.
The first known of it Was when Mr.
Bradshaw appeared at the son's
residence with his left arm shatter-
ed to the shoulder, with arteries
iiterally spouting blood. Dr. How-
ell was called and applied a tourn-
iquet, and later Dr. G, M. Clifton
was called from Norman. Later
Dr. Bobo was called in consultation
and it was decided that the only

It is thought that after cleaning
the gun he had loaded it to see if
it worked all right, and in pushing
the barrel down on the stock, in
some way the automatic arrange-
ment exploded a shell. Mr. Brad-
shaw's left hand was evidently over
the muzzle, for load shattered the
hand into shreds and ranged up the
arm to the shoulder, tearing the
tlesh into ribbons and cutting the
arteries.
