Organize Democratic clubs
and get to work. The enemy is
approacning.
The Sentinel is the official
organ of the Young Men's Dem-
ocratic organization.
Lee Cruce of Ardmore is be-
ing pushed for Governor of the
new state. Cruce is an able
man.
Organize a stock company
and build a city park on the
ground where Hie big barbecue
was held.
There is going to be more
politics to the square mile in Ok-
lahoma this summer than any-
where else in the United States,
an 1 more than half of it good
Democratic politics, too.
Hon. A. W. Ledbetter of Ard-
more has announced himself as
a candidates for membership in
the Constitutional Convention
from that district. He is an
able gentleman and would be a
mighty good representative.
Now is the proper time for the
Democrats to get up and get to
work all over this county and
district. We can sweep the
country by an overwhelming
majority, but to do this we must
not lose any time. The time is
now.
Claude Weaver, the brilliant
lawyer and orator, of Pauls Val-
ley, has announced his candi-
dacy for congress in this, the
fifth congressional district, of
the state of Oklahoma. He is
from Texas, and is a Democrat
—unlike others from that great
democratic state we might men-
tion who are masquerading as
democrats i n Oklahoma and
chasing any and every good of-
fice in sight.—Fredrick Okla-
homa Leader.
In 1907 Pauls Valley's popula-
tion will be double what she is
now.
We have had good rains all
over the Chickasaw Nation and
the corn prospect is fine, as well
as all other farm products. This
country is in the best shape it
has been for years, and things
in general will boom this fall.
The democrats of this held a
very enthusiastic meeting Tues-
day night. They decided on
having a democratic love feast
Friday night week. Don't fail
to be present and tell all of your ir*
good democrat friends.
The redisricting committee ICK
of the new state are a very busy *0"
set now, and it is announced
that they intend finishing their JCX
work so as to have the election J0I
for state and county officials at
the regular November election. m
The interests and future of | JQJ
Pauls Valley should at all times JO!
be considered. The Farmer's Qjy
Union proposition is one we JW
should accept on their own
terms. Think what importance £%
our city would assume if all the
cotton of the 17 Recording Dis-
trict should b e concentrated,
held and marketed here. Our
Banks can finance this as well
as hold the cotton for them.
Business begets business. How
much this would add to our
material prosperity is only a
question of multiplication.

The two Executive Commit-
tees at their meeting at Shawnee
the two committees accomplish-
ed much good. The Primary
system adopted, minimizes the
influences of graft and pratical
politics, and gives to the poor,
yet worthy aspirant, at least as
honest a chance as is possible
under our trusted free institu-
tion. An enlightend public sent-
iment, however freed from the
pejudices of all kinds of graft
and graft influences; elevated by
careful study of the great men
who erected so carefully this
great Union and its Govern-
ment—the absolutely necessary
prescription in the proper treat-
ment of all political ills. Thanks
to the Two Committees. Keep
up the good work.

It has been remarked by two
or three narrowheads, "wonder
what the Sentinel's politics
are." Just here we will say for
the benefit of these num-skulls,
that the Sentinel stands for Bry-
an Democracy and its editors
stand for the same good prin-
ciples. It looks rather strange
that people knowing, how ye ed-
itors voted in the last city cam-
\ aign and back for some years,
would be prompted to ask such
a narrow7 question. "Nuff sed."
The Sentinel editors have pur-
chased a large cylinder news-
paper press which will arrive in
about four weeks from the fac-
tory at Chicago. We expect to
change the size and also change
the name of the paper and any
good suggections from our
friend for the new name will
be duly considered. As you all
know machinery costs money
and this peess alone cost us $850.
We would be glad for out friends
to pay us theii4 little outstanding
obligations and we assure '' you
that it will be highly appreciat-1
ed. In the future we expect to
give our patrons a much better,
and larger paper and our motto
is for thfe "upbuilding of Pauls
Valley and surrounding vicinity
and the pure old Jeffersonian
Democracy." We are here to
stay and expect, with the assist -
ance of our friends, to have one
of the best newspaper and job
offices in the new state.
