Pauls Valley pays the high-
est price for cotton of any town
in the neighborhood. The farm-
ers are aware of this and bring
their cotton here. And then,
too, they can buy things here
at right prices.
You should read all the adver-
tisements in your home papers.
It is the men who advertise who
want your trade; the fellowT who
never lets you know he is on
earth simply conducts a spider
web and is waiting for the pass-
ing fly. Patronize the men
who advertise and you H ill not
miss the mark.
In arranging for a turkey for
Thanksgiving .Day if you will
also arrange for one for some
family that in all probability
will not enjoy a good dinner un-
less it is provided by some one
on the out-side, your own
Thanksgiving-dinner will be all
the more enjoyable.
The farmer wants a place to
sell his products and be wants
to sell them where he can buy
what he wants and can feel that
he is getting goods as cheap as
they can be sold. That is the
reason he comes to Pauls Val-
lev.
There never was a town min-
ed by too much enter} rise on
the part of the people, no town
was ever injured by too many
railroads. No town was ever
injured by having too fine a
water plant or too many sewers.
No town was ever injured be-
cause the people worked for
manufacturing institutions. On
the other hand there are towns
in every section of this gre«,t
country mere wrecks because of
lack of the enterprise, or because
the knockers had neutralized the
work done by the intelligent en-
terprisitg citizens. — Oklahoma
City Times-Journal.
The home of Stonewall Jack-
son is to be bought by the
Daughters of the Confederacy
of Virginnia and transformed,
into a hospital, as a memorial
to \ he gerat Confederate leader.
When the farmer pays seven-
ty dollars for a wagon that the
workihg class receive only ten
dollars for making, how can the
latter pay the farmer a good
price for his products? Not one
farmer in ten thousand knows
that wagons are produced for
less than ten dollars in wages,
yet the government issued stat-
istics to prove it. The papers
that the farmers read keep
them in ignorance of vital facts.
The market value of the rail
roads of the United States is

There are several ways of up-
building a town. There are just
as many ways of tearing a town
down. One of the tearing down
way is the mail order business.
People sptnd too much mon-
ey out of town for things that
could be purchased here.
It's not what we say of our-

Valley is the best town in this
part of the country. You shouldl
