Two school mams whose terms
•f school had expired were re—
furning home in a train, they
•ere naturally discussing school
«ork and their schools in partic-
ular.
And told how sweet, kind and
ftow awfully lovely her children
were, how rapidly they advanced
inch splendid deportment etc.
The other had similar experince
With her children adding that they
vtl wept at the parting the last
day.
Finally one as; theotherhow
many children she had and she
answered 35-the other asked how
many she had and <he said 40.
An Irish lady sealed just behind
them had become very much in-
terested in their conversation and
leaning forward tapped one of
them on the shoulder and inno-
cently asked "mams would you
mindto tell me what part of Irland
your husbands live in?"

The war calls for sacrifice but
teh government does not ask you
to starve the body.
Women can save in many ways-
There is powder and paint etc.
Men could do with out the use
of tobacco, and alcohol and sodas.

to provide her own food and feed
she is likely to suffer serious pri-
vation, and she will put a burdon
upon the nation which may pro-
long the war and even imperial
