Monday morning we received apackage of garden ,,or I)igtrict judget Uth District
President Wilson has ordered Federal troops into
Colorado to suppress the disorder growing out of u
strife between strikers and strike-breakers in the mines
hear Boulder. The Governor of the state attempt-
ed to quell the disturbance with the state militia but
failed and called upon the President for Federal aid.
In sending the Federal troops the President emphatic-
ally stated that same could only be used to restore
order and not to be in any way used to settle the con-
troversy between the strikers and mine owners. The
president's proclamation commanded all persons in
the effected district to lay down their arms, "disperse
and retire peaceably to their respective abodes
It begins to look very much as though congress
would remain in session throughout the summer. At
one time it was (brought the session would end eai;ly
in June and the members released to come home and
look after their political fences during the summer.
It does not make the slightest difference whether Con-
gressman Weaver comes home or not before the ses-
sion ends, llis active work as a congressman will end
seed from the Hon. f Claudius Aureliiis Weaver, the
misrepresentative in Congress from Oklahoma. How
that distinguished? gentleman happened to send them
to us at this late date we can't understand, as Con-
gressman Thompson sent garden and flower seed to us
two months ago, from which- we enjoy greens and
flowers which have grown from those seed. However
we are of the opinion that the sending out of the seed
was neglected on account of Claudius Aureliiis being
kept busy mailing out "Why 1 go to Church" and
"Why you should observe Sunday as a day of rest''
circulars, in which he tries to deceive the good people
of the state and nation as to his true position on Sun-
day observance, as lie attempted to deceive the people
in this county by assuring them that he wanted their
assistance in recommending appointments, when as a
matter of fact he never intended that he should be in-
fluenced by the recommendations against his personal
desires.
The people in this county "bit" once at the bait I
| he east them and got a mouth-full of wind for their
trouble and expense of trying to lend liim the assist-
ance he called for, ami he will be awfully HANDn'Ai'i'En
we very much fear, should he venture to ask the peo- |
pie of Cleveland county's assistance to return him to I
