From the News, Hutchinson. Kan.
One of the best-known m* n In Hutch-
inson, Kan , 1" iu-.- on- of the early
h-itl-rs, ns Hr. George shears, a con-
tractor and brick and stone mason of
twenty years standinp In conversa-
tion a few days since, Mr. Shears said:
“I have been a resident of this city
for over tw-nty years, durlnp which
lime, K' nerally sp-uklnR, I have had
exceptionally pond health, superintend-
ing the dir-ctloii of many of the best
business blo-ks in Hutchinson, and
feeling at all tirn-s a d.--p interest in
the xrowth of th<- city It Is true that
durlnp this period of time 1 have seen
n any ‘tired’t- aeons, but it wus not un-
til about two years ago that I first real-
ised the horrors of rheumatism. I was
taken down by this dn-ud malady and
so stronp was Its hold upon me that
until a short timo npo I was unable to
take off or put on iny own shoes, and
lia l to he assisted In putting on and
taking ofT my clothes, as well as getting
out of or Into my buggy.
"About a year ago I was attacked
with kidney trouble, and this, together
with my rheumatism, made life most
unbearable. A few weeks ago, after
many unsuccessful trials with local
physicians to obtain relief, I stepped
Into the A and A Drug store and asked
for the best me Heine at their command
for rheumatism and kidney trouble.
Dr. Ardery, the head prescription clerk,
suggested that I try Dr. Williams’ fink
'•Ills for Dale People. I purchased one
ts.x, took them horn- and with many
misgivings began taking them accord-
ing to directions. I might add In this
connection that my wife, who has also
been ailing from kidney trouble for a
few years, began taking the pills at the
sanu time 1 did.
"I am a man of few words, ns all of
my friends know, nnd do not d-slre to
say anything for any man. company fir
medicine that 1 do not mean, but I will
say this for Dr. Williams’ fink fills.
I am so far delighted by the use of these
pills, and my wife attests the state-
ne nt, that I to-day bought two more
boxes, and whereas life was a burden
before, nnd I was compelled to have
assistance nearly all the time both day
and night 1 have lost all symptoms of
rheumatism, tan walk as lively as I
could twenty years ago, my kidneys are
as active and natural as they ever
were, and I firmly bellve that I am a
cured man and thnt I owe It all to Dr.
Williams Pink Pills for I’ale People.
"The pills I got to-day are for the
purpose of keeping them in my family
and when ailments such ns we have
been heir to for some Mine past befall
us we shall resort to Pink Pills, feeling
that th- v will do all that Is claimed for
them. There Is nothing in this state-
ment but what my family and my
neighbors and many citizens of Hutch-
inson know to be true, and I give them
to you, thinking possibly some other
poor suff-rer may profit by iny experi-
ence and be made as good as new by
the use of these lit tit* wonders.

A woman knows what a bargain
really is. She knows better than a man.
“ BATTLE AX ” is selected every time
by wives who buy tobacco for their hus-
bands. They select it because it is an honest
bargain. It is the biggest in size, the
smallest in price, and the best in quality.
The 5 cent piece is almost as large as the
10 cent piece of other high grade brands.
