4tli. has been progressing more rapid-
ly than is supposed. A large sunt
of money has been secured for Hie
affair, and every committee is busy
making arrangements to make Hie
event complete.
Five excursion trains will be oper-
ated Into the city on the different
railroads, and fully 5,000 people will
come in I his way.
The roads have taken tip the ad-
vertising of the celebration, and are
getting ready to distribute litera-
ture up and down the line for n dis-
tance of a hundred miles or more In
all directions.
Some speaker will he secured who
will make a talk worthy of the oc-
casion. Effort, has been made to get
the services of Hon. Joseph W. Folk,
of Missouri, he being a boyhood
friend of C’. S. Walker, who is on the
speaker committee.
Among the attractions will be a
morning and afternoon hall game be-
tween the Muskogee and Tulsa lea-
gue teams. At night, it is arranged
to have the greatest exhibit of Arc-
works ever shown In the territory.
The Tulsa Commercial club band has
been engaged for the day. Other
music Is promised.
The advertising committee Is pre-
paring to send the news of the cele-
bration broadcast over the land.
Large posters and many thousand
bills have been ordered for the event.
They will be given wide circulation.
This, with the advertising the rail-
road companies are going to give will
he sufficient lo in form the most re-
mote parts of the territory.
This is the largest concern of this
kind in the territory and have a num-
ber of branch houses In other cities
and the surrounding towns, but will
make Tulsa headquarters. Its offices
are located at South McAlester, Ard-
more, Muskogee and Oklahoma City.
Their up town office is located in
the office with Attorney H. J. Collins
over the Kelrnan building. They
commenced doing business this morn-
ing.

hardware man, having been In busi-
ness In Chicago for fifteen years. He

city—the Ropenfleld building that
has recently been completed. Mr.
McClure said this morning: “You

I have had all my shelving and fix-
tures made In Tulsa by home mechan-

in patronizing home industry."
The slore room is being neatly ar-
ranged by Mr. McClure and the high
class fixtures In it make it very at-
tractive place.
The new store will handle high
grade builders hardware, as well as
a complete line of hardware used for
every other purpose. Active prepara-
tions are going on now to get the
store ready for opening.

I.odz, Russia, June 24.—Yesterday
was "Black Friday,” in Lodz, and
surpassed all horrors of "Red Sunday"
in St. Petersburg. The estimate of
tilt injured runs as high as 2,000,
witli many dead. There was a re-
newel of blood shed this morning and
troops were ordered from Warsaw.
The casualities up to noon today
were eighteen killed or wounded, ad-
ded to yesterday's appaling total.
As far as can be ascertained, ISO
were killed outright Friday. Forty-
one more died in the hospitals during
the night. The hospitals are filled to
overflowing with wounded. Of the
injured, 220 sustained only slight
wounds.
All shops, stores, factories and plac-
es of business are closed.
Rioters this morning set fire to
the government offices, but were scat-
tered by troops.
The trouble was started by social
demersus* and Jewish bund, who de-
clared to avenge their comrads killed
in rioting on Wednesday.
Anarchy and fierce street fighting
prevailed all day Friday. Two bombs
were thrown into the enclosure, kill-
ing or wounding twenty soldiers. Oth-
ers dashed vitro! from the rooms into
the troops.
All factory hands have struck and
are flockng the streets. They were
attacked by cossacks, who fired volley
after volley into them, killing and
wounding many.

Epworth Leaguers.
Webster, N. Y., June 21.—Epworth
Leaguers from all the cities ami
towns of the Rochester district as-
sembled in force here today for their
sixteenth annual convention. The
forenoon was devoted to the regis-
tration of the delegates, appointment
of committees and other prefunctory
business. This afternoon there wore
levotional services conducted by Rev.
It. M. Connal of Lincoln. The ses-
sions, which will continue over to-
morrow, are being held in the Metho-
dist church.

Ardmore, I. T., June 26.—The sen-
sational features in connection with
the Investigation of the Chickasaw
warrant cases developed late this af-
ternoon, when the federal grand jury
which has been in session the entire
week, filed four separate Indictments
for conspiracy, as follows: Conspir-
acy to defraud Chickasaw nation;
conspiracy to present false claims
against the United States; conspir-
acy to defraud the Commercial Nat-
ional bank of Kansas City, Kas.; con-
spiracy to defraud the First National
bank of Joplin, Mo. For conspiracy
to defraud Chickasaw nation out of
$8,887, Governor D. H. Johnston,
ex-Governor Palmer D. Mosley, Geo.
Mansfield, J. F. McMurray and Mel-
vin Cornish are made joint defend-
ants; for conspiracy to present false
claims for $4,950 against the United
States, defendants are W. T. Ward,
United States Marshal B. H. Colbert
and Kerby Perdoni; for conspiracy to
defraud the Commercial Na|tJonaP
bank out of $2,848.85, B. H. Colbert,
W. T. Ward, T. A. Teel, S. M. White
and E. B. Hlnshaw; for conspiracy to
defraud the Joplin bank, B. H. Col-
bert, Kerby Perdom and W. T. Ward.
In all four indictments the parties
charged therein are Indicted jointly.
S. M. \\ hite and E. B. Hlnshaw, two
of tlie defendants, are prominently
connected with Chickasaw national
schools. Hinshaw is at present super-
intendent of the Bloomfield Seminary
school for Chickasaw young women
located at Bloomfield, and White is
superintendent of Harley institute
at Tishomingo. Teel, Hinshaw and
White were directors of the defunct
bank of the Chickasaw nation,
through which institution these ille-
gal deals are alleged to have been
consummated.
Shortly after the indictments were
returned, United States Marshal Col-
Miert, one of the accused, surrendered.
Federal Judge Townsend fixed his
bond at $2,000 in each case, there
being three accounts against him.
Bond was readily given. Warrants
for all will be placed in the hands of
federal authorities at once.
Marshal Colbert expressed confid-
ence that he would be acquitted.
He was a rough rider and was ap-

meeting will be held during the first
ten days in August.

Harvard men, while the sons of old
Eli gathered in force at Gale's Ferry,

were lined today with enthusiasts
desirous of seeing the final practice
spins and forming their last judge-
ment on the form of the two crews.
Yale is still the favorite, but Har-
vaid s courage is rising and everyone
predicts a race. Yale is confident,
hut she is ready for a surprise. Har-
vard's followers seem willing to take
a chance and her backers arc makng
some few bets at such odds as 2 to 1
in Yale’s favor. There is not much
betting as yet, but the present en-

oust him from office, and his enemies
have been unrelenting in their fight
against him.
Colonel Mosby, who represented
the department of justice in the in-
vestigation, it is stated, was very se
vere on Colbert and his report.' Of-
ficials express surprise that the in-
formation concerning the indictments’
of the parties was disclosed two days
prior to the report of the grand jury,
and before arrests were made.
Goveinor Johnston, also indicted,
is one of the most widely known men
in the territory. He has been in of-
fice several years, and has been quite
prominent in the affairs of the na-
tion. It Is pointed out that the in-
vestigation developed gross careless-
ness on the part of some of (he trib-
al officials in handling the business
affairs of the nation. United States
Inspector James E. Jenkins has been
working on the warrant deal since
March, 1905, and he recommended
that the cases be presented to the
grand jury. The exact amount in-
volved cannot be told.
