Itrakeman Killed In a Wreck
Sunday C. a. McPherson, head
brakeman of * Rook I aland freight
<.ran, which fell from the track of
tihe main line about two miles south
of Fort Reno, Sunday morning, was
instantly killed In a wreck and the
engineer and Srem&n only save their
Eves by jumping, landing safely In
>:the eo9t mud of the roadside.
The engine tender and fourteen
freight oars were derailed, and the
front portion oi the engine was bur-
ied in the mud. A soft track, oaus-
'ed by the heavy rain of Saturday
nightt caused the wreck.
The train was going slowly over
the bad portion of track at the time
of the wreck, when one side of the
front of the engine suddenly plunged
from the tracks.
The tender followed. The engin-
eer and fireman jumped > o safety hut
MOPherscm was caught between the
engine and tender and his head was
crushed.
(He lived In Bit Reno and leaves a
wife and two small children. His
body was taken to Bn id for burial.

Bush to Mss Irene Meaner. After
the ceremony which was conducted
by Eld. R. S. Smedley, the party aw
down to a ‘bounteous Thaufesglvtng
and wedding feast comb ned. The
tab'e was beautifully trimmed in
smilax. The following persons were
present: Nick Mesner and wtlfe,
father and mother Of vhe bride. Geo.
Cox and wife, John Huff and family,
Mias Zoe Smith of Okeene, Miss
Ze la Menden'bull, of El Reno, Mr.
and Mrs. Ice, Mr. 'Lansdown. son and
boo’s wife, Who Is a sister
of the groom. Fred Sterling snd
family, James Misner and family,
R. S. Smedley and wife. The bride
groom wore the conventional black,
the bride wore cream silk voile.
The bride’s parent* wore a smile.
After cou'gratula.ions the bridgroom
passed candy and peanuts -'.o the
numerous persona present. The
couple are now at home to their
many friends at Nick Miner's for
the present. The wr'er has lived
In Richland school district for near-
ly slxi.cen years and has seem the
bride grow from ohldhood to wom-
anhood and has had the honor of
baptising and uniting her in marri-
age. The same can be said of many
others. New relationship are taken
on, new homes started with uew de-
velopments. They as well as we
were once young, but are each year
growing older and all are silently
float ug down the stream of time to
eternity.
Mrs. Morrell and Miss Zoe Smith,
of Okeene, and Mrs. Zella Menden-
hall and Miss Clara smith of El Re-
no, daughters of J. R. *and Alice
Smith, visited their paren s Friday
and Saturday, returning home Sun-
day.
The Richland school district has
a new eoal house.
