|HOLMES DRUG STORE
October brings Indian summer and Hallowe’en.
It brought me to Oklahoma 18 years ago and I came
on Hallowe’en and I am glad I came.
PIPE SMOKERS
We always find that a man is as particular in buy-
ing a pipe as he is in buying a pair of shoes or a suit
of clothes and that is just the reason why we take
so much care in selecting o*ur stock of pipes and smok-
ers needs. We now have a line that will delight
the eyes of the most critical pipe smoker.
MUSIC STRINGS
Violin, Mandolin, Guitar, and Banjo strings are
here. Unless you have given a good deal of study to
buying strings you are in danger of buying decep-
tions. We have dealt in and studied strings for
hall a life time. Perhaps we can help you, we have
the stock any way.
TRAVELNG
I just returned from a trip to north Dakota and
I have about made up my mind that I would not
make a good world traveler.unless I could travel like
President Wilson on a special train of my own. I
haven’t the nerve to take the last seat in the car away
from a lady carrying two grips and a baby—push old
people and cripples to one side in order to get
into the train ahead of them—bum smokes, matches
and drinking cups—barrow newspapers and all read-
ing matter from fellow travelers—occupy four seats
while riding on one ticket and smile and look pleas-
ant whenever some strange kid climbs all over me and
smears me all up with crushed banana. No, dear
readers, I can do very well building (very) tempor-
ary bridges but as a world traveler I admit I am a
failure.
