Two miles northeast.
J. B. Fisher haled his hay last Tues-
day. James Seaman did the work.
Mr. and Mrs. J B. Fisher took din-
ner one day last week with Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Fisher near Panama.
There were about twentw teams
working on the road northeast of
town all last week. The road is in
fine shape now from the big hill
north to the railroda
A dog in the manger policy is a
mighty poor way to popularity.
French haps, dominoes, rubber
balls and pocket knives for the boys
are Christmas gifts.
Mr. Purcell is feeling some better:

Mrs. Holmes and Miss Beulah Mc-
Mullen are on the sick list this week.
Ross Purcell is talking of getting a
Ford. Look out girls.
Ray Cook spent last Sunday with
his friend. Irwin Fisher.
Wouldn’t you like to visit the great
deserts. Indeed 1 would but I haven't
the sand—Capt. Allen Dudley.
Mrs. Green and Grandma Holmes
visited one day last week with Mrs.
J. D. Purcell.
Mr. and Mrs. McEwen who lived on
the Schidester farm have moved to
the Jim Hopper farm. Mr. and Mrs.
Hoper have moved to Alva for the
winter.
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Fisher spent the
evening last Monday visiting with
Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Purcell.
J. D. Haltom, after spending a week
at his Cherokee ranch has returned
and is now workingo n his Sand Val-

Dr. Lemon was called Friday to see
Mrs. Dan Hoskins, who is quite sick.
Mrs. Davidson, May Clark and
Clarence Hageehon are on the sick

Mrs. South of Freedom is helping
her adughter, Mrs. Henderson cook
for threshers.
Lewis Olson went to Alva Monday.
A1 Davidson took a load of hogs
to Alva, Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lyons, Mr. and
Mrs. Will Pancoast of Unity, Dave
Sharp and family, Mr. and Mrs. Mar-
shal visited Sunday at Jim Snow’s.
Ray Lyons came home Sunday.
Harry Baker and Miss Gene Guth-
rie were visiting at the home of Glen
Henderson. Sunday.
Mr. Dixon and family spent Sunday
at Clyde McAlister’s.

aged seven years contributed her

Joe Jone was shakin hands with
old friends at church Sunday morn-
ing
Mrs. Bruce sent a Christina- tur-
key to a friend in Colorado.
The school children are looking
forward to vacation next week
Mr. Tollman has bought a new
Dodge automobile.
E\a Vandruft has been visiting at
the home of her brother.
-Murrel Provost sports a Ford run-
about.
The mail carrier has numerous
Christmas packages daily.
Several grip victims have recov-
ered.
Fred and Lot Fox have each pur-
chased a brand new buggy.
Mr. Provost is heading kafir.
Mrs. V\ m. Joachim was shopping in
Cherokee Saturday.
Carl Schisk has a new auto. .
Several elevators at Dacoma are
full up.
Considerable road grading has
been done in this locality.
John Lee was in this vicinity last
week.
Mrs. Hapke has returned from a
visit with relatives in Wichita.
Quite a number of rtappers are
capturing skunks and occasionally a
cat.
Adrian Baker has been soliciting
in this neighborhood for a new
church at Sunnyside, west of Alva.
We had a very strong cold wind
December 16.

As I have been absent for some time

Miss Irene Davis started to school

Arthur DeHaven threshed kafir

this vicinity last week.
Messrs Albert Rush and John Pat-
terson accompanied by several others
returned from their big hunting trip
on the Cimmarron river one day last
week.
Miss Hester Cole visited
1 hursday evening until Saturday
with her sister. Mrs. Stella Ingles
of Alva.
The sale of Cle\e King and John
Minor, Friday was not very well at-
tended but everything sold well.
Mrs. A. L. Tiberghien visited Sun-
day afternoon with Mrs. Levi Cole.
Mrs. Stella Ingles and children
Ethel and George spent Saturday
night and Sunday with C. O Morris
and family.
John Minor and family are prepar-
ing to move to Alva this week where
Mr Minor will engage in a grocery
store. We are sory to see them go.

of Rosston, Okla.. arrived today,
(Monday) for a few days visit with
