PITTSBURG COUNTY FAIR
Continued from tlrst page.
fair in August. Size and quality
of the exhibits will be two of the
essential points to keep in mind
when planning for this township
exhibit.
There are townships in Pitts-
burg county that are capable of
growing any number of kinds of
farm products, and if each town-
ship would take up this with
earnestness, the display of farm
products would be a most grati-
fying success. It would he one
of. if not the strongest drawing
feature at the Fair.
The plan is offer prizes for the
first and second best township
display of farm product. The
prizes will be well worth the
time [and expense necessary in
producing the exhibit, aside from
the pleasure and honor of win-
ning either of the prizes.
In order that your township be
represented in the contest at the
next Fair, which will he August
19 to 22, 1908, it will he neces-
sary to get to making plans be-
fore the crops are planted.
There must be at least five in
each township to enter the Pitts- J rs ( jul.
burg County's Township Contest
association in their respective
.townships, in order that their
township may be represented at
the coming Fair. There is no
township in the countv but that
could triple the liumder of ex-
hibitors required for each town-
ship in this contest if hut one
farmer in each township will
" iend an hour or two, calling up-
on a few of his neighbors and
placing a notice up, calling a
meeting for that purpose. There
is to be no entry fee in the town-
ship contest. hence there should
be no lack of interest among the
farmers in such a contest as the
one set forth in this article.
If there is any point that any
one does not fully understand
regarding the township contest,
by writing to the secretary, Mr.
Frank Dale, Krebs, Ok!a . or Mr.
Robt. F. McWherter, McAlester,
Oklahoma, the point will be
fully explained. Should any
one have any question he wishes
answered regarding the Fair,
write either of the gentlemen
above named and they will en-
deavor to answer the question.
The association desires to have
every person in the county fully
understand what the real object
of such a Fair is, and what ad-
vantages there are to he derived
from its existence. Every paper
in the county should publish this
article or one similar, that all
