The meeting was called to order
about 8 o’clock by Mayor A. T. Kruse,
who stated the objects of the meeting
and called for the election of a tem-
porary chairman. The name of G.
N. Hendricks was placed before the
meeting for chairman and upon vote
he was elected. R. T. Manning was
elected as temporary secretary. A
committee on permanent organiza-
tion was appointed by the chair.
They reported in favor of the tem-
porary organizatioh being made per-
manent which report was favorably
accepted by the meeting.
The chairman made a neat little
talk regarding the future welfare of
our city depending on the selection
of competent officials to preside over
the affairs during the coming year.
The talk was well received and heart-
ily applauded.
The chairman stated that the first
thing in order was nominations. The
nomination of mayor was first called
and the name of A. T. Kruse and
Chas. Hatje were placed before the
convention. Motion was made that

NOTES OF THE MEETING.
G. N. Hendricks made a good chair
man.
Everything went off very harmoni-
ously.
Two of Geary’s best citizens were
nominated for mayor.
The third ward sustained its previ
ous record by casting 65 votes when
there were present only ff voters.
They evidently believe in the old
maxim: “Vote early and often.
When you see a city tM size of
Geary that can get op a city ticket
regardless of politics you can tpst as-
sured that the people are all working
for the good of the town.
It makes no difference what men
are elected on the ticket nominated

The M. E. church, south, have se-
cured the Basel entertainers for four
nights of motion pictures and picture
songs, dissolving views, etc., Edison’s
latest improved machinery and a
mile of pictures. An entire change
of program each night. The newest
things in mysterious and magical

loop-th e-loop and high diving horses.

Prof. L. A. Ferrel, our well liked(
superintendent has resigned his po-
sition as superintendent of the Geary
public schools and will accept an-
other position. Mr; Greenfield will
will take his place, Mr. Greenflield
i8 » graduate of the University of
Oklahoma and has bad three years
experience In normal institute work
at" Chandler, Norman and Watonga,
and was principal of the Watonga
public schools two year* ago Which
position he refused the second year
in order to finish his college course.
He comes not only recommended
by Prof. Ferrel, but Dr. David R.
Boyd, president of the University of
Oklahama.

By a petition from a large number
of citizens of this city, I hereby an-
nounce myself as a candidate for the
office of police judge of the city of
Geary, subject to the decision of a
majority of the legal voters of the
city.

PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

of Oklahoma, will speak on “Coming

will be celebrated the sacrament of
the Lord’s supper. The evening ser-
vice will probably dose Rev. Mitch-
ell's work in Geary and he oordlally

“The Catacombs of Rome” will be
delivered Friday evening at 8 o’clock,
at the Presbyterian church. Admis-
sion 25c or a book.

fought by both parties. It was first
tried in Judge Davis’ court and then

then taken to the district court The
case first came up last Jnly and most
of our readers are familiar with the
facts in the cAse.
