Cashion, Okla. Aprii. 5, 1917
With the exception of the wind
and dust last Tuesday, election
day in Cashion was rather a quiet
day.
The weather man played an
April fool joke on the people of
this section early Sunday morn-
ing by making them believe it
was going to rain. Plenty of
thunder, lightening and a little
sprinkle was all that happened.
Col. Harvey, President of the
Ozark Trails Association, in con-
ference, at Oklahoma City last
Saturday, with the county com
missioners and the trails commit-
tee of the Chamber of commerce,
of that place, told them just
what they had to do to secure the ("
trail thru Oklahoma City, The
bridging of the south Canadian
river at Newcastle is the thorn in
the side of Oklahoma City in
securing the trail Col. Harvey
made it very plain that promises
would not go, but that either the
bridge would have to be complet
ed or a satisfactory bond given
to insure its completion w'thin a
short time It will cost about
$200,000 to build a satisfactory
bridge at Newcastle. Col. Harvey
also reminded Oklahoma City that
unless they beat the efforts of
Tulsa and the other aggressive
routes, the trail would be fixed
over either the northern route
thru Guthrie or south route thru
Norman.

Wood Has The Greatest Weather Resistance
According to the plans and specifications of the
great Architect, Noah built an ark that withstood the
rain for forty days and forty nights, lhe plans call-
ed for a certain kind of timber and certain dimensions
The water prevailed upon the earth one hundred and
forty days; every living creature perished save those
in the protection of lumber. Can we get any better
building material than that which has the stamp of
this Architect on it? His wisdom is never excelled
by man's invention.
Lumber has ever been man's best friend—from
the cradle and the homes of the living to the shrouds
of the dead. It is more sanitary than other building
material and just as warm when properly dried and
put together.
Noah has proven to us that there is no better pro-
tection from the weather to both man and beast than
a shelter built of lumbal
We have on hand a good stock of lumber and will
cheerfully give prices and estimates when called upon
