Capt., 39th U. S. infantry, gave Noble
a call the first of the week in the in-
terest of his Uncle sam. He exp cts
to call aeiain in the near future with a
full compliment of circulars relative
to army matters.
A runaway engine from the Purcell
yards passed through town Saturday
night and stoped of its own acorn two
miles nortn of town; no great damage
was done.

The drill at the mill struck water
Tuesday at 240 feet, but are going
down some further before they stop.

neighborhood last Friday night.
Mrs. H. J. Tremain was visiting
her sister, Mrs. H, D. Halm, in Mc-
Guire last Sunday.
C. F. Casey has purchased the un-
improved property in the west part of
town belonging to Mrs. (J. Prater.
Hodley Murphy has a small stock
of novels and papers on sale at
Murphy brothers store.
Cliff Mays of the Chickasaw country-
was in the City Tuesday. Cliff is one
of the leading men of his race in the
Walnut neighborhood, and stands
high as a man for honesty and int g- ity
