Oklahoma, and has been a resi-
dent of Kingfisher since the
opening'of the Territory. Judge
MacGee is a gentleman of liber-
al education aud good business
qualifications. He speaks Ger-
man and H'reuch fluently, and
previous to his election as Pro-
bate Judge in 181-1 he took charge
of the classes in French and Ger-
man in the Kingfisher Academy.
He served in a New York regi-
ment during the war of the re-
bellion. At the close of the war
lie went to Germany for the pur-
pose of study, and entered the
Leipsic University in 1«6".
While there he was tendered the
appointment of United States
Const)I at Leipsic, because of his
proficiency in the German lan-
guage and his peculiar litness
for the position. At the close of
his term in 1870, he went to
France, and after two years
study there, returned to the
United States, aud entered Ann
Arbor University, where he
graduated in the law class of
1&74. tie located in Atchison, I
Kansas, in the fall of the same
year, practiced law there, serv-
ing as Judge several terms.
Judge MacGee faithfully dis-
honest and fearless man, who
thoroughly understands all the
duties of the office.

George H. Laing as a candidate
for Clerk of the District Court.
Mr. Laing is serving as Ueputy
District Clerk at the present
time, and his fitness and quali-
fications for the place are so well
known that we need scarcely

instead of deputy will aid much
in the di.«patch of the business
