The Wichita E'iglt's state-
ment that tlie Clipper and Eagles
of this city had been consolidat-
ed is a trifle previous;
The recant organization at
(Guthrie of a press associatiou
representing the twin Territo
ries is significant and will no
doubt be a means of help in
securing early statehood.
The authorities of the Kansas
state penitentiary recommend
the renewing of toe present con-
tract for the keeping of Oklaho-
ma prisoners in that institution.
The contract doeg not expire till
January. Toere is a probabili-
ty that the next Legislature will
establish a Territorial prison.
It ie stated that rain is much
needed in certain secaons of
the oouuty for the cotton crop
the acreage and yield of which is
above the average. The yield of
both corn and cotton throughout
this part of the country proves
the advisability of a divei-sity of
crops for this section. The
wheat crop is the one which is
generally regarded as the a ain
stay. Ia Oklahoma it is a great
crop but the shortage made
it necessary to resort to other
crops The resnlts have boen
satisfactory:
Large Sleeping Oars Berths
One of few railroad conpanies
that owns and operates the
sleeping cars in service on its
lines, is theChichigo, Milwaukee
&St. Paul.
The sleeping cars on this line
were formerly Pullman cars,
operated by the Pullman Com-
pany, but for a dozen years past
the railway company has owned
and operated the sleeping cars
equipment. In building its
sleeping cars, a departure from
the old standard pattern of cars
has boen made to the extent of
adding about six inches to the
width and height of the sleepers.
This permits of wider and high-
er berths, so that comfort is
found in them which is lacking
in ordinary "sleeping cars.
These large cars in service on
practically all of the lines of the
St. I'aul Road, and are very pop-
ular with the traveling public.
HoKutirul Woman
Plump cheeks, flushed with ,
the soft flow of health and a j
pure complexion, make all worn-'
en beautiful. Take a small dose j
of Uerbine after each meal; it
will prevent cons' ipation and
help digest what you liavo eaten.
