Notice is hereby given that all lands
arid lots comprising the following list and
sold on September fourth, fifth, sixth and
I seventh respectively in the year 1893 and
| upon September the third, fourth, fifth,
sixth, seventh and eighth respectively in
the year 1MM by Joseph Stiles as County
Treasurer of Logan county. Oklahoma
Territory to said Logan county, Okla-
homa Territory, for the delinquent taxes
of the years 1892 and 1893 respectively to-
gether with amount of interest, fees and
costs due thereon, together with ail pen-
alties, for the reason that said land and
lots were offered for sale at said sale,
and no person offered to purchase the
same for said taxes, interest and costs
due thereon. They were therefore bid
1 in by said county treasurer for said Lo-
gan county, and .ne tax sale certificates
for said lands and lots having been in the
possession of said Logan County for a
longer period of time than three years,
and no person naving offered to purchase
the same for the amount of taxes, penal-
ties, interest and costs due thereon. Now
therefore I. Ferdinand Ritterbusch,
County treasurer of Logan county, Okla-
homa Territory in compliance with sec-
tion one of article thirteen of chapter
thirty-two, of the session laws of 189i
of the Territ ry of Oklahoma will on the
tenth day of May 1898, between the hours
of one and four o'clock p. m., at the
ounty Treasurers office in the City
of Guthrie. County of Logan and Terrl-
torv of Oklahoma, offer for sale to the
highest bidder at public auction for cash,
all of the following described lands and
lots situated in the County of Logan and
Territory of Oklahoma, whltout reserve
or limit other than the cost of advertising
which is ten cents for each lot and
twentv-ttve cents for each tract or parcel
of land: and 1 hereby certify that said
lands and hits have not been redeemed
within two years from date of sale and
have not been redeemed up to this date
and that the respective amounts set op-
posite said tracts and parcels of lots and
.ands comprising th<; following list is the
total amount of unpaid taxes costs, pen-
alties and interest against said tracts
and parcels of bits and lands for the
years 1892, 1S93, 1894, 189G and 1896. and that
■aid sale will continue from day todaj
for a period of not more than three days
and that purchasers of property enum-
erated in this notice will be entitled to a
deed forthwith from said Logan County
to the lots, parcels, or tract of land by
them purchased said deed being executed
upon the payment of seventy-five cents
in addition to the purchase price and as
manv lots or tracts of land as practicable
may* be included In any one deed, pro-
vided that persons possessing the rights
of redemption, may redeem any or all of
said lands and lots at any time prior to
the date of said sale.

gram sent to the governor of each of
the states and territories, informing
thetn what will be expected under the
president's call for troops:
"The number of troops from your
state under the call of the president,
dated April 23, 1898, will be .
"It is the wish of the president that
the regiments of the national guard or
state militia shall be used as far as
their number will permit for the rea-
son they have^ are armed, equipped
and drilled. Piease wire as early as
possible what equipments, ammunition,
arms, blankets, tents, etc.. you have
and what additional you will require.
Please, also, state when troops will be
ready for muster to the United States
service. Details to follow by mail.

For the purpose of recruiting for the
volunteer as well as the regular ar-
my, the department will designate in
each state and territory several cities
where recruiting under the direction of
army officers will be carried on. The
Hull bill, which it is expected will be-
come a law tomorrow, will provide for
the increase of the regular army • n a
war footing to about 60,00 men. In ad-
dition to those recruiting stations it
is expected the war department will
designate boards of army officers who

000 a year in arrears, owing to the lapse
of ten years allowance, made by the late
Washington De Pauw# of that amount.
Vice Chancellor Hickman of the univer-
sity says De Pauw will open nexf. fall
with her full teaching force.
