DEFINITE PLANS FOR
GREATER WHITE WAV
1'efinite plans for Oklahoma's louged-
fir Great White Way are now about com-
pleted. They will be presented to the Re-
tailers' association at tbe next luncheon
February 1 The Chamber of Commerce
believes It advisable to get the Great
White Way in operation as soou as pos-
sible. To that end It is planned to in-
stab it at once. aAnil then let the con-
tributing merchants and other business
men pay for it monthly on the installment
plan, so the burden will be light.
BUSINESS MEN WILL
ASK FOR LEGISLATION
The retailers of Oklahoma City are go-
ing to ask the state legislature to enact
a law which will prevent people givitiK
clacks when they have no money In the
bank. At present It is almost impossible
to reach a man who has given a cheek
against a hank if be has rver at any time
nad an account In the institution.
Nowadays a man may draw $">00 worth
Of checks when be has but 1100 In a
bank and excuse himself ou the ground
that he did not know he was overdrawing
hid account.
Oklahoma City is said lo suffer more
fiom worthless checks than any other
town In the •state, and the retailers here
piopose to go to Guthrie In a body to
lobby for their new law when It comes
up in the legislature.
