ON FIRE!
At 4 o'clock this morning, a small
fire occurred in the bakery of the
Hotel Lee and a serious conflagra-
tion was narrowly averted.
The damage will not exceed $100.
Joseph Huckins, proprietor of the
Lee, rewarded the three fire comp-
onies with several boxes of cigars for
their good work.
The American Lunch Room
Will Remain Open Until 12 O'clock, Midnight.
Dick Pain, the negro charged with
killing Henry Treadway last Thurs-
day night, over Charlie's Pool Hall
on West 1st street, was released
from the county jail on $5000 bond
last night.
Justice Zwic.k fixed Pain's bond
upon recommendation of County
Attorney Hays.
Pain's bondsmen are Thomas Tay-
lor and Sam Carrutkers both colored
who each qualified to considerable
more than the required amount.
