Wind, Wind Erosion, Sand Storms and Dunes

Description: Photograph of wind erosion control in a peanut filed by strip cropping with 12 rows of peanuts and 4 rows of hegari forage sorghum. Peanuts have been pulled and stacked and shocked and the hegari has been headed. Hergari stalks will be left in the field to control blowing during the winter. Mr. W. A. Hardesty, shown here, said he he planned to follow the peanuts with a winter cover crop of rye grass or vetch and oats. Field is tempered. OK-8413.
