Description: Photograph of timber control by basic treatment with chemicals. 2-4-5-T herbicide in diesel fuel that was basal sprayed on this timber during dormant season. Grass came as soon as shade was removed. Weeds showing up [unclear]. No problem here. Lloyd Wilson is very well pleased with the kill. He says his soil conservation plan developed with the aid of Soil Conservation Service [SCS] personnel is the best help he has found.

Grass, Legume and Forb Cultivation

Description: Photograph of vetch in Bermuda grass. It is furnishing green forage high in protein when most needed. Soil Conservation service personnel developed a basic plan with Mr. Standley Maddox and he is rapidly carrying out the treatment needed. Vetch 6 inches high on October 21, 1959, is good pasture for cattle. This segment of the Little Wewoka Watershed will yield little silt to stress channels. OK-1017-10.
