Caption: "Mountain Park, Okla., grocer George Mathey had been blind in one eye for 30 years and the other was failing badly as he scanned an article in The Sunday Oklahoman 12 years ago. He was 51 at the time, and had a wife and three children, the youngest of whom was only 12, and his vision was fading fast. He would later receive a corneal transplant, and has been thriving in this Southwest Oklahoma community since."

When Mathey came to Oklahoma from Lebanon, he promised himself he would save money and send for his relatives. That promised was realized 47 years later at Will Rogers World Airport, as Mathey's 70-year-old sister stepped off the plan to greet Mathey and his family. Mathey now owns a grocery store in Mountain Park, and was 12 years old when he arrived in Oklahoma."
