McKinney, left 1417 SW 44, stood outside of his barracks at Ewa Field Hawaii and watched the first Japanese planes strafe the field. After every one realized the planes were enemy, McKinney grabbed a .30 caliber rifle and was given 5 rounds of ammunition. "I was scared at first-later we all were just mad."
