Choctaw Execution of Silan Lewis

Description: Photograph of the execution of Choctaw Silan Lewis in Wilburton, I.T. Wilburton was at the time in Gaines County in the Choctaw Nation (now Latimer County). The execution took place on November 5, 1894. Sheriff Lyman Pusley executed Lewis with his rifle. Lewis was convicted of killing Joe Hoklotubbe.
