The Kiowa Breeze was published for the first time on March 29, 1901. The paper was a four page, three column paper published every Friday.
The Kiowa County Democrat was founded in 1905 by Charles M. Wilson and Morris A. Crooks. The Kiowa County Democrat ceased publication in 1910 and was succeeded by the Swanson County Democrat.
The Konawa Chief was started in November, 1904 by G. E. Nichols and the Chief Publishing Company.
