El Reno Okla. Aug:. 1. The fourth
day opened clear and hot. It lacked a
few mlnutos of olght o'clock whon tho
big boxes began to rovolve and the
every click of the typewriters recorded
tho names of tho bolatod lucky num-
bers. Tho crowd facing tho platform
today Is lnrgo but every day is grow-
ing less and tonight's train will carry
the bulk of the crowd away. Tho
anxious faces show groat disappoint-
ment. Many howevor are holding to
nopo that many of the nnmos drawn
will never file. Satisfaction 1b gett-
erai over tho selection by Garemor
Richards of the commissioners who
will have charge of the sale of town-
sites in the new county gents of Law-
ton Anadarko and Hobart.
Kansas City Mo. Aug. 1. A special
to the Star from Kl Reno Okla. says:
Interest In the government land lot-
tery will end today. The commission-
ers propose to draw a total of 0600
numbers from each wheel by dusk.
This will be equivalent to thirteen
thousand homostends. Commissioner
Richards said today that boglnnlng
August 0 ISC names in each of tho
El Reno and Lnwton land districts
would bo called dally for sixty days
for filing of homestead ontry. Thoso
who have not riled within that tlmo
will hav.o lost tholr chanco. It Is esti-
mated that fully 1000 of Jho 6500
numboraln each district will not bo
taken bocauso of homostoadors who
will bo disqualified or will have left
the country. Two thousand claims
-will then bo loft for wagon emigrants
and others who have beon In tho coun-
try for months and who havo failed
to draw n lucky number from tho
wheels.
Today's crowd has been compara-
tively light about tho wheels. Tho
