Scrlpps-McRha Press Ass'n.
Indanapolis Aug. 8. Bryan and
Stevenson were notified of their nom-
ination for the presidency and vice-
presidency by the Democracy of the
country at Military Park this after-
noon in the presence of 30000 people.
The march of the clubs and organi-
zations escorting the candidates to
the park was a continual ovation and
Bryan aud Stevenson bowed thanks to
the throng.
The meeting was called to order by
Mayor Taggert. who made a good
speech.
Chairman Jones was then introduc-
ed as master of ceremonies.
After a few words he introduced
Congressman Riehaidson of Tennes-
see. There was a mighty cheer when
Bryan rose to reply and it was some
time before he could proceed. It was
getting late in the afternoon when
Gov. Thomas of Colorado in a few
weli chosen words informed Steven-
sou of his nomination. Tbe vieo pres:
idential candidate replied briefly and
the exercises came to a close.
Bryan's speech was masterly tie
covered all the ground and explained
at langth his policy in urging the rat
ification of the Paris treaty. Five
thousand words were devoted to anti-
imperialism. ACCIDENT AT CASIIION.

Is Nominated by Acclamation
by the Republicans This
Afternoon.
lion. D. T Plynn was nominated b
acclamation at 4:15 o'clock this after"
noon by the Republican territorial
convention makingthe sixth consecu
tive time Mr Flynn has been thus
favored. The delegates who come
from the outlying district are
loyal to Plynn; they know nothing
of the efforts of ambitious
politicians to knife him. Flynn
indeed has a strong hold on the affec-
tions of the rank and file Republicans.
The sixth and last time Flynn is
nominated as a victim. Next Novem-
ber will see Judge Neff elected by
12000 majority.
The Republican territorial conven
tion opened at 10:30 today. Wm
Grimes territorial chairman called
the delegates to order. Rev. Marsh.of
the Congregational church invoked
divine blcEsing. Hon. O. It Fegan
was introduced and extended words of
welcome in a thirty minutes' dicussion
of Republican policies. He was fol-
lowed by J M. Dodson on behalf of
the delegates.
15. F. Free'and. of Grant county
was chosen temporary chairman and
J. Copes of Guthrie temporary
secretary and Charlie Hunter of
Enid assistant secretary.
In the appointment of 'the cdmmit"
tees one was chosen from each dele-
gation to form each committee. Wood-
ward county reported a contesting
delegation and each side were al-
lowed representation on committees
except the committee on credentials.
In the naming of the members for the
committtees from the Woods connty
delegation the Barnes and Flynn fel-
lows clashed on the selection of the
member of tbe credentials committee.
Ross of the Barnes side and Stites of
the Flynn crowd were nominated. A
tie vote was cast in the delegation.
Joe Sherman chairman of tho delega-
tion persisted in announcing the
name of Ross when the Stites men de
clared they had a majority of the dele-
gation. The convention ordered the
delegation polled and Mr. Stites was
declared by the chair to be elected
This fight has been on for the leader-
ship in Woods aounty and the Barnes
crowd was brought to showdown by
the convention.
The Kiowa and Comanche reserva-
tion brought four delegates having
elected two in addition to the call.
They were seated without discussiou.
The convention adjourned to 1 p. m.
at which time the committees will get
together.

ward county delegation contest The
credentials committee seated the Wig-
gins delegation.
jSomeidiscussion on the satisfyingiof
the territorial committeemen elected
by each county resulted in tho en-
dorsement of this action.
The roll call on nominations was a
unanimous affair for Flynn and dem-
onstrations were spirited.
Nichols of Canadian county made a
bloodthirsty nominating speech and
seconding speeches followed.
At 4:15 p. m. Mr. Flynn received the
unanimous vote of the convention. He
is now speaking reviewing his work
in congress.
