London Feb. 16 London was elac-
trlflcd today by tho posting of the fol-
lowing dispatch from General Roberts
which was received elirly this morn-
ing: 'General French with his horso
artillery cavalry and mounted Infan-
tii reached Kimborly this oveaing
Thursday)."
General Roberts' dispatch came from
Jacobsdal dated 2 a. m. There is no
mention of a battle and it is supposed
the Boers retired into tho Orange
Free State without offering battle.
Tho news of tho relief of Kimborloy
caused great rejoicing and Gens. Rob-
erts Kitchener and French arc being
applauded. Klmberloy has been under
siege since October 13 and the Boers
wore especially anxious to capture tho
town because Cecil Rhodes who they
accuse of being the cause of ail the
trouble in South Africa was cooped up
there.

Now York Feb. 10 Roland B. Mol-
ineux was today sentenced to ba elec-
trocuted some time during the week
beginning March U0.
Moliucux'a attorney asked for a new
trial on ten specified grounds but was
refused by Recorder Goff Molineux
was given permission to mako a state
ment and declared that be wnu inno-
cent and that tho evidence against
him was perjured. Tho recorder then
passed sentonco upon him

vitations wore in Dutch and the party
played ouchro aad a liutch band pro-
vided the music. The refreshments
were Duteh and the prise awarded at
the euchre oonleet were steins.

gantloman's prize.
The party was one of the most eu
joyable of the season.
