with Winchesters. Several big boxes
of amunltion wore taken off the train.
Mon marched in disorder to the capi-
tal and surroundod the adjutant gen-
oral's oilice. Many are believed to be
militia mon. They wore cartridge
belts well filled.

taw orphan lands in tho state of Mis-

to tho credit of tho Choctaw orphan
fund in the treasury of tho United
States. Tho number of acres us de
termined by the general land oilice
aggregates 257. 12 of undisposed land
belonging to this fund. Tho secre-
tary recommends that 82000.10 be
placed to the credit of tho Choctaws
in tho United States treasury in pay-
ment of all orphan lands yet unsold
